Lucrezia Borella – Commercial Back Office

I feel comfortable in my role: I know what I have to prioritize and what I can possibly postpone, I know how to manage activities and I have got to know my customers and suppliers, and all this gives me a feeling of serenity and comfort.

How did you arrive at Guerrini?
It was a lucky chance. I was working as a shop assistant and had decided I wanted a complete change. So I started answering some job advertisements. One day an agency contacted me about a job offer to which I had sent my CV and they told me that my profile would be more in line with another position: they offered me the interview at Guerrini. It was the end of 2018.

What exactly do you do today?
I take care of customer orders and partly also work as a purchasing office. What I like most about my job is that, although there is always something to learn, today I feel really comfortable in my role: I know what I have to prioritize and what I can possibly postpone, I know how to manage tasks and I have got to know my customers and suppliers, and all this gives me a feeling of serenity and comfort. In the beginning it wasn’t so easy: Fabrizio, the colleague I work with and who supported me in the initial training phase, gave me all the support I needed, but I could see he had a lot to do, and I wanted to be supportive, so I didn’t want to ask all the time.

What was your first impression when you joined Guerrini?
It seemed to me that they were a close-knit group, that there was a good understanding and a relaxed atmosphere. Today I am part of that group. A sector, the engineering one, still male-dominated, but it intrigued me more than scared me: I came from a job where 9 out of 10 colleagues were women. At Guerrini I established excellent relations, there is no competition, there is a relaxed atmosphere. I believe that when there is mutual respect and we clarify from the outset what boundaries need to be respected, things inevitably become simple.

And what are your passions? What do you do when you are not in the company?
I try to keep fit by practising yoga. My main passion is reading. I love the fantasy genre, those books where the plots are sprinkled with hints of magic and supernatural phenomena. On my bedside table today, you would find a Faustian novel, ‘The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue’, by V.E. Schwab, but my absolute favourite book is an Italian book ‘When the Devil Caresses You’ by Luca Tarenzi. I have read and reread it three times and enjoyed it each time. The fantasy genre can make the mind wander from reality, catapulting it into parallel worlds. Besides the fantasy genre, I also enjoy reading the great international classics from time to time: Tolstoy, Proust, Yoshimoto… I am basically curious.
